The Breeden Company to Develop 15-Acre Apartment Community in Richmond, Virginia

The Breeden Company, the nationally recognized Virginia Beach-based real estate development firm, announced today they have closed on a 15.64 acre multifamily tract in the Chesterfield County area of Richmond, Virginia. The land parcel, located at the intersection of Route 288 and Genito Road, is expected to begin development Spring 2023 and be completed Spring 2024.

Designed by Humphreys & Partners Architects, L.P., the unnamed apartment community will feature a pool area, clubhouse complete with fitness center, a playground and bark park. The proposed development project will also include a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartment homes, set among 4 buildings. Homes will range from approximately 704-1390 square feet. Residents will also have to option to choose from detached and attached garages. “We are excited to develop in this sought-after section of Chesterfield County. Our investment strategy has always been consumer-driven, as demonstrated by the 25,000 multifamily units already designed, developed and managed in our portfolio. Chesterfield is an attractive connectivity hub,” said Jake Marshall, Breeden Company Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.

Breeden Construction will serve as general contractor on the project. The Breeden Company’s Property Management division will manage the asset once construction is complete.

In addition to the Chesterfield County parcel, The Breeden Company is also currently working on several other developments, in their various phases, in the Richmond market including The Village at Westlake, Phase 2 in Henrico County and The Duplex on Hermitage in the Diamond District of Richmond, Virginia.
