Breeden Construction selected as general contractor for 1st Phase of South First Street Revitalization in Charlottesville, Va.

Breeden Construction announced today that it has been retained by Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority to construct 62 new units of affordable housing as part of the South First Street redevelopment project. The project will meet HUD and VHDA standards and guidelines as well as the requirements of the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS)—a vol­untary standard for energy-efficient buildings. The $13 million apartment project is now underway and is expected to be completed by Spring 2022. Breeden Construction is responsible for all construction and work-site management, including a commitment to deliver the project on schedule and within budget.
