Virginia Business has selected Angie Loew, Chief Financial Officer, Breeden Construction, as a 2026 Women in Leadership Awards recipient. The Women in Leadership Awards celebrate top women executives for their overall professional accomplishments, civic engagement, mentorship and breaking glass ceilings. The honorees have consistently demonstrated remarkable leadership and integrity and make an impact on their community and/or Virginia as a whole. As Chief Financial Officer for Breeden Construction, Angie is responsible for all financial oversight, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulations, overseeing audit and review functions and assisting the executive management team in establishing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Her command of strategy, from strengthening our Work in Progress reporting to protecting margins on every contract and change order, has been instrumental to our growth, especially in a market this volatile. But what makes her exceptional is how she got here: she built this career while earning two degrees at night, working full time, and raising her son on her own. Angie has held several positions within The Breeden Company. In 2004, she began working as a commercial accountant. Over the course of her career, Angie has been promoted four times-most recently to Divisional Controller. Before joining The Breeden Company, Angie served in the United States Navy in the supply division. Upon completion of her military commitment, Angie received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from Old Dominion University. The honorees were selected by the Virginia Business leadership team.
